The proposed musical genre maintains strong traditional connotations, both in terms of texts, mainly in the Cilentano dialect, and the instruments played, largely typical of the tradition. From the different contaminations of the components, coming from different musical styles, and from the use also of electric instruments, a modern sound is born, particularly appreciated also by the new geneations. The aim is, therefore, to rediscover and maintain the traditions, cultures and music of the past, make them current and disseminate them, making sure that they are also known in other places.

The name "RittAntico" stands for Ritto Antico, or "ancient saying", to recall the research activity of texts, dialects and ancient sayings of the Cilentan land, and of the neighboring areas, which is pursued by the group.

The show that the group proposes consists of a rich succession of songs both unpublished and traditional typical of the Cilento territory, represented by the typical Cilentan tarantella, by the stornelli and by the love serenades. The repertoire also includes a musical comparison with the areas surrounding the Cilento: the Calabrian and Sicilian tarantellas, the pizzica of Salento, the tarantella montemaranese, the tammurriata of the Agro Nocerino Sarnese, the Neapolitan tarantella. The RittAntico born in 2009 from the idea of ​​a group of friends from the same country, Novi Velia, united by a passion for music. 

The name "RittAntico" stands for Ritto Antico, or "ancient saying" and derives from the fact that the truth is rooted in ancient popular wisdom and music represents its manifestation. The mission is to explore the popular musical culture of our past and rework it in a contemporary way.
